AMÉLIE DESJARDINS
Amélie Desjardins is a nomad.
In order to find her art materials, she travels the whole world passing from trains to motorbikes, or from caravans to sailboats in search of stranded treasures.
We are all torn between two desires: The one to settle down and the one to travel.
Her art highlights the fusion of sedentary and nomadic life.
She builds her works from materials with a history and she juxtaposes poetic images.
Her approach is based both on the recovery of materials filled with history and on a lyrical vision of the passage of time.
Since 2004 she did art residencies, solo exhibitions in major galleries and attended many international artistic events.
Desjardins’ work is part of private collections and museums.
