CECILIA PRECIADO

Preciado was born in Colima on April 4, 1969; she began in art as
a self-taught student living in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco; she was
part of the Cuale River Island Painting Workshop for three years, where she studied art history, drawing, watercolor, engraving and oil. Later, she was for eight years a student of Master Agustín Castro in mixed media who defines the basis of her work.

Besides participating in the Breath Masks event at the José Luis Cuevas Museum in Mexico City, she also belongs to the Colectivo La Mujer y sus Pinceles, which organized a National Painting Biennial in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. This Biennial was a tribute painting exhibition and conferences in celebration of Women’s Day. Additionally, she has participated in countless group exhibitions in Puerto Vallarta and Mexico City.

Preciado seeks to develop her pictorial language both in
figuration as in abstraction where the characteristic of her work lies in the search for color through loose and strong brushstrokes with a fauvist and expressionist tendency, giving her painting a
personal touch.
