“Painting in my life is as important as sleeping or eating. I am exhaustive in the research of pictorial techniques and I also draw on photography, cinema, music, literature and everyday reality itself. I am moved by a passion for painting. My paintings arise from the inevitable need to capture on the canvas images and feelings that emerge from the subconscious, materializing into tangible works. They came a long way before seeing the light. I am self-taught when it comes to encaustics”.
“I like the process as much, or more, than the finished work. For me, cooking paint is pure alchemy, it takes me back to the essence of life. The smells of wax and resin melting remind me of my fragility and birth. Natural pigments are fascinating for their intensity, the malleability of the medium and the use of fire to melt, unite, create, shape, build and destroy, complete, from my point of view, an organic, honest, and above all creation process. everything, reveals the soul of the one who creates. I am obsessive and work days of up to 13 hours, in what is today, my passion and emotional purge”.
